On April 7, 2007, God allowed WOLCM to be birthed to bring forth a new and exciting ministry targeted to the young adults at Orr and the Chicago west side community. We are very pleased with the Lord’s Favor and blessings in 2007. We will forever cherish the ministry “FIRST FRUITS”.

April 7, 2007 – Saturday IMPACT Opening Service Celebration

142 worshipers witnessed and celebrated the birth of WOLCM at the ORR High School Campus Auditorium. Pastor Craig Smith of the Freedom Baptist Church charged the ministry with a powerful sermon. Pastor Shirley Hughes of Inspiration Deliverance Center (COGIG) prayed a

powerful and thundering payer. Kevin Vasser gave God his “Highest Praise”. He blessed us with his hit recording song “So Glad”. We send a thank you to Dr. Mary Williams and Orr Campus principals for allowing WOLCM to use their facility. The Orr Campus staff has shown great kindness towards us and we are thankful. 


June 17, 2007 – First Baptism Service

Tyjuan, Damecas and Johnathan were baptized with excitement and joy at the Freedom Baptist Church. Pastor Gibson presented them with baptism certificates and baptism photo album of their baptism. We pray that God will give them provision, protection and promotion in their spiritual walk in life. Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized…! Praise God for Salvation.



September 1, 2007 – Back to School Giveaway

WOLCM was able to bless students who came with backpacks which included pens, pencils, crayons, a ruler, two pocket folders, two spiral notebooks and 100 sheets of wide rule paper, a pencil sharpener and a pocket Bible. WOLCM distributed over thirty backpacks to students at the service. Pastor Gibson anointed the students with oil while Rev. Robert Mc Cottrell offered prayer to the Lord on behalf of the students. Jane Collins of the Refinery Ministry at the ORR Campus provided pocket Bibles for the students.




September 21, 2007, - ORR Health and Empowerment Feast. "Beloved, I wish above all  things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth?” WOLCM teamed with Larry Potts of Youth-Guidance to host an annual health fair at the ORR High School Campus. Over thirty sponsors and vendors came to educate the youth on health topics and awareness. Over two hundred participants came and enjoyed the health fair. Parents, staff members, and students (who were eligible) donated blood to American Red Cross. Jimmy of WOLCM who serves as a mentor to the young men and assistant to Pastor Gibson donated blood at the health fair. We are grateful and send a special thank you to all the sponsors who came to

November 16, 2007 – Presentation of Thanksgiving gifts to Senior Suites

On November 16, 2007, Tenisha and Pastor Gibson presented the can goods and food to the Seniors Suites Residents. It was a prayer answered according to property manager Sharon Sutton.  The food was used to provide Thanksgiving dinner for the residents at the Senior Suites.


December 1, 2007 – Christmas Joy Celebration

The Orr Alumni Association and friends donated gifts to the Word of Life Christian Ministries at the Impact service. The gifts received were presented to the teen parents and their children at the Hull House childcare. Hull House is a childcare center that operates during school hours,

allowing teen parents to stay in school and spend time with their child during the day.



December 15, 2007 - WOLCM Christmas Outing at Maggiano’s Restaurant

WOLCM enjoyed an evening of fine dining and celebrating the Christmas seasons.
